Lenna Chase

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, at West Main Baptist Church for Lenna Faye Chase, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Chase, 76, died Monday April 11, 2016 at her son's home in Artesia.

Belton Mathews will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Chase, Richard Chase, George Chase Jr., Mark Brewer, Matt Brewer, and Ralph Doughty. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Archer and all grandchildren.

Lenna was born June 20, 1939 in Roby, Texas; the daughter of Thomas Hitt and Willie Faye Sessum Hitt.

She was a longtime resident of Artesia. On February 1, 1958 she was married to Bill Chase in Artesia, NM. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2012.

Lenna loved fishing, crocheting, arrowhead hunting, visiting the casino and most of all playing with her grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Tommie Ruth Medina.

Survivors include her sons Verble Chase and wife Gaynel of Carlsbad, N.M. and Danny and Sheila Chase of Artesia; a brother Sonny Davidson of Middleton, Idaho; grandchildren Justin Chase and wife Alexandra, Whitney Ballard and husband Parker, Kara Chase and Paul Bratcher; Kelsi Orquiz and husband Richard; great-grandchildren Peyton Chase, Avery Chase, Wesley Ballard, Paige Ballard, Adaleine Bratcher, and Bentley Orquiz.
