Lendell Hawkins

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, at Faith Baptist Church for Lendell N. Hawkins, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Hawkins, 73, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 in Artesia.

Michael Elliott will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Hawkins, Johnny Hawkins, Brian Hawkins, Cary Fry, Zac Fry, Carlos Ponce, Steven Ball, Danny Riley, Scotty Black, and Drew Talley.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday .

Lendell was born October 28, 1940 in Drumright, Oklahoma the son of Edd Hawkins and Martha Edwards Hawkins. He came to Artesia in 1972 from Hobbs, NM.

On Feb. 24, 1973 he was married to Cathy Loyd in Artesia.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a Senior Production Supervisor for Concho Oil and Gas, a member of Faith Baptist Church, past member of the Loco Hills Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Eddy Co. Mounted Patrol.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Floyd and Bob Hawkins, and sisters Louise Blackburn and Elizabeth Bejcek.

Survivors include his wife Cathy Hawkins of Artesia daughter Jenifer Haass and husband Jeremy of Artesia brother Eddie Hawkins of Hobbs, N.M. sister Linda Ball of Hobbs grandsons Lane Richard Haass and Blake Lendell Haass numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Assurance Home in Roswell, N.M.
