Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Wimberly Cemetery, Wimberly, Texas for Lena Mary Cochran, 403 N. Paris, Artesia, New Mexico. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary, Artesia, N.M. beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Lena went to be with Our Lord Jesus on October 12, 2012 after celebrating her 92nd birthday. She was born in Streeter, Mason County, Texas on October 2, 1920, to William Worley and Georgia Allen Worley.
She retired from the Austin Public School system, she also taught school in a one room schoolhouse. She was a volunteer in Abilene, Texas where she taught English to nonenglish speaking people, she received an award for her services. She enjoyed traveling and eating the most. She moved to Artesia in 1995 to be closer to family. She was a Great Aunt and the best of friends. She will be greatly missed and we Love her.
She is survived by Maria Cochran her sisterinlaw of Roswell, N.M. also nephews and nieces Ramon and Vicki Calderon, Mike and Claudie Cochran, Santiago and Joann Calderon, Paul and Judy Alvarez, Matthew and Eliza Cochran all of Artesia, Ruben and Vivian Martinez, Shawn and Michele Cochran of El Paso, Texas, John and Kay Cochran of Athens, Texas, Johnnie and Linda Cochran of Abilene, Texas, Armando Gonzalez of Roswell numerous great nieces and nephews, and greatgreat nieces and nephews. Also Minnie and Maria Calderon and boys her friends. Most of all her faithful pet Rascal.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Cochran, brothersinlaw Johnnie and Chester, sisterinlaw Susie Cochran. Her parents William and Georgia Worley, and a young brother at birth William. Her nephews David Cochran and Ruben Martinez, Jr.
