Lee Robinson

Closed casket services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 18 at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Lee Robinson of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Robinson, 78, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. T. Jackson, Preston Means, Bob Mayberry, Tom Scroggin, Mike Phipps, and James Maupin. All Red Hat members have been designated as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Robinson was born July 6, 1925 in Mountainair, New Mexico; the daughter of Samuel Oakie Robinson and Ina Moore Robinson. On October 22, 1944 she was married to Dean H. Robinson in Estancia, N.M. She owned and operated a 5 10 cent store in T or C, N.M. and a dry cleaning plant in Lovington, N.M. She and her family came to Artesia in 1957 from Portales, N.M. She was a retired public school librarian for Roselawn and Park schools and was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. She was an avid Bulldog Sports fan and followed and loved to watch her grandchildren as they participated in Artesia school activities. She was a member of the Artesia and New Mexico Retired Teachers Associations; and the Lady's Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by one brother and one sister. Survivors include her husband Dean Robinson of the family home; a son Rex Robinson and wife Lisa of Artesia; grandchildren Dedi Baack and husband Paul of Phoenix, Ariz., Drew Robinson, a student at West Texas A M in Canyon, Texas, and Barrett Robinson, a student at Park Jr. High in Artesia; a great-grandchild Kinslee Baack of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christian Children's Home - 1356 NM Hwy 236 - Portales, NM 88130-9411 or to a favorite charity.
