Lee Caldwell

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at First United Methodist Church for Lee Vance Caldwell, 1907 W. Booker Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Caldwell, 63, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Rev. Robert Williams and Rev. James
Edwards will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Lee was born August 13, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Vance Durmond Caldwell and Ruth Edna Soderstrom Caldwell. He came to Artesia in Aug. 1984 from Illinois.

On Aug. 1, 1984 he was married to Sharon Smith in Westmont, Illinois.

He was a Fire fighter in Illinois and with the Artesia Fire Dept. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, very active in training and teaching the volunteer and paid fire fighters in the surrounding area, after retiring he worked student registration at FLETC and in Feb. 2010 he became a Walmart Greeter.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Sharon Caldwell of Artesia daughter Katie Caldwell of Artesia brothers Ray Caldwell and wife Patricia of Wonder Lake, Illinois, and Tim Caldwell and wife Patricia of Downers Grove, Illinois 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Artesia Fire Dept for training equipment and supplies or to charity of choice.
