Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at First Christian Church for Lawrence Van Brower, 1109 W. Centre Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Brower, 81, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Universal Hospice Inpatient Facility in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Rev. David Grousnick will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members.
Lawrence was born June 3, 1930 in Leary, Texas the son of Lawrence Van Buren Brower and Alma Shipp Brower. He came to Artesia in 1952 from San Diego, California.
On Dec. 12, 1952 he was married to Paula Shipp in Artesia, NM. She preceded him in death April 13, 2010.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He was a parts clerk for Amax Chemical Company and a member of First Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Curtis Brower and a sister Cora Moors.
Survivors include sons Larry Brower and wife Annabeth of N. Richland Hills, Texas, and Donald Brower of Austin, Texas grandchildren Chris Brower, Lawrence Brower, Brandon Brower, Crystal Knapp, Kelsey Weeks, and Joshua Brower 7 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
