Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park, Artesia, N.M., for Laverne Blanton, 3417 Shady Hill Drive, San Angelo, Texas.

Mrs. Blanton, 95, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Park Plaza Hospice in San Angelo, Texas.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday .

Laverne was born July 4, 1915 in Tolar, Texas the daughter of Frank A. Masters and Kate Whitt Masters. She came to Loco Hills in 1942 and moved to Artesia in 1959.

On July 25, 1938 she was married to I.R.Rooster Blanton in Merkel, Texas. He preceded her in death September 3, 1989.

She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Denomination.

She was preceded in death by parents, a brother James B. Masters and a stepson O.R. Tex Blanton.

Survivors include daughterinlaw Malava Blanton of San Angelo grandchildren Doug Blanton of San Angelo, and Tonya Allison of San Angelo 4 greatgranddaughters Dree Noble and husband Reagon, Brittnae Davidson, Lesli Leifeste and Tara Leifeste 3 greatgreatgrandchildren Tripp Noble, Marin Noble and Reed Noble numerous nieces and nephews.
