Laura Hawthorne

Memorial services are scheduled at 3:00 P.M. Friday, October 2, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Laura Hawthorne, 501 S. 20th 6, Artesia, New Mexico. Ms. Hawthorne, 38, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at her home. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Hawthorne, Paul Maupin, Charles Maupin, Terah Sexton, Jeremy Maupin, David Maupin, Julie Maupin and Jamie Maupin Laura was born December 17, 1970 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Peter John Hawthorne and Jamie Fay Maupin Hawthorne. She was a longtime resident of Artesia. She was a Cashier for Fenn's Supermarket and member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her mother. Survivors include her father Peter Hawthorne of Denver, Colorado; brother Christopher Hawthorne and wife Kimberly of Mesa, Arizona; uncles Terry Maupin, Dennis Maupin, Howard Hawthorne and Billy Hawthorne; aunt Louise Hawthorne; grandparents James and Wanda Maupin of Artesia; children Seth Allen Norman of Dallas, Texas and Jamie Maupin of Artesia; and numerous cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the N.M. Christian Children's Home in Portales, N.M.
