Closed casket services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Larry Parker, 509 W. Bush Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Parker, 57, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 in Artesia. Rev. David Brunson will officiate at the services with burial at Lower Hope Cemetery in Hope, N.M. Pallbearers will be nephews Marcus Miles, Chad Parker, Jeff Youtsey, Mark Peterson, Randy Scott, Tim Foster, Keith Johnston, and David Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren Kyle and Krysta Snowden, Lucas Clark, Dustin Teel, Jacob Teel, Andrew Teel and all of Larrys other nephews. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Larry was born March 25, 1949 in Artesia; the son of Orland Parker and Delma Lucille Wood Parker. He grew up in Hope and worked on ranches in the area. On February 20, 1971 he was married to Martha S. Walker in Artesia. He was a retired ranch foreman. He was active in and was an avid supporter of 4-H and F.F.A. Larry was a strong family man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include wife Martha Parker of the family home; son Raymond Clark and wife Donna; daughter Rhonda, mother-in-law Alta Sis Walker; brothers Jerry Parker and wife Dorothy, Wendell Parker and wife Sharon, Royce Parker, and Rodney Parker; and sisters Orlene Foster, Sally Phillips and husband David, and Ann Van Winkle and husband Buddy. Also surviving are five grandsons and one granddaughter; sisters-in-law Treva Gist, Wanda Scott and husband Travis, and Vesta Youtsey and husband Dwight, brother-in-law Bobby Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Artesia F.F.A. Chapter or a charity of choice.
