L. Francis, Jr.

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 16, at First Christian Church for L. E. Francis, Jr., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Francis, 75, died Monday, September 13, 2004 at his home. Rev. Gerald Harper will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday. Mr. Francis was born January 5, 1929 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of L. E. Francis, Sr. and Alice Dunn Francis. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1951 and served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Francis, a lifelong Artesia area resident, co-owned and operated Dunn's Garage in Artesia; and was a member of First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a brother Harold D. Francis of El Paso, Texas. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church, 1006 W. Bullock Ave., Artesia, NM 88210.
