Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at Woodbine Cemetery for Coach Kevin D. Graham of Lubbock, Texas.
Kevin, 55, moved on to his eternal home on Friday, October 2, 2020.
Kevin was born February 17, 1965, the son of Jimmie Don and Opal Graham in Artesia, N.M. He graduated from Artesia High School in 1983 and went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech University.
Coach Graham's teaching and coaching career spanned over 31 years. In 1989, he started teaching in Plainview, Texas and through the years taught and coached at Artesia, Hobbs, and Lovington, New Mexico as well as Shallowater and Lubbock High in Texas. He then moved back to New Mexico and taught and coached at Kirtland Central and Dexter. Kevin spent the last three years teaching and coaching at Brownfield, Texas.
Kevin was passionate about his teaching and the interaction he had with his students. He was described as a highly energetic person and the compassion he felt for his students was a very special trait. He wanted his athletes to experience success in life. He loved the kids and will be greatly missed. He also loved hunting, fishing, and the Denver Broncos.
Kevin is survived by his parents Jimmie Don and Opal Graham of Artesia; son Brady Graham and wife Corey of Lubbock; the very near arrival of his first grandson; and uncles Corky of Illinois and Howard Gene of Texas; and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Portales, N.M. or a charity of your choice.
