Kenneth Brown

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 4th, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Kenneth Gene Brown, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Brown, 77, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, in Roswell, New Mexico. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee Brown, Yancey Brown, Joel Brown, Justin Brown, Jarrett Brown, and Darrell Brown. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 2:00 P.M. Sunday. Mr. Brown was born February 24, 1928 in Rising Star, Texas; the son of Forrest Kenneth Brown and Hazel Barnes Brown. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. On October 8, 1946 he was married to Irmadine Busby in Overton, Texas. He came to Artesia in 1974 from Kermit, Texas. He was a Mechanic for Halliburton, retiring in 1991; and was a member of the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father, a brother, a sister, and a son. Survivors include his wife Irmadine Brown of the family home; his mother Hazel Brown of Alexandria, Virginia; sons Lee Brown and wife Sharon of Laramie, Wyoming, and Joel Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; a sister Carmelita Calvert of Alexandria; grandchildren Callie Drietz, Yancey Brown, Jennifer Brown, Justin Brown, and Jarrett Brown; and six great-grandchildren.
