Kathie Ragsdale

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, at First Baptist Church for Kathie Scott Ragsdale, 1705 Harrison Ct., Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Ragsdale, 59, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Artesia General Hospital Emergency Room.

Rev. Joey White and Ty Bean will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ross Horner, Gary Scott, Jr., Gary Scott, Sr., Clay Foster, Ronald Horner, Charles Scott, Rodney Scott, Tim Baize, and Perry Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Johnston, Mike Phipps, Johnny Saiz, Artesia Public School Administration, Credit Union employees and all APS bus drivers.

Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Kathie was born March 3, 1951 in Portales, New Mexico the daughter of Charles Windfield Scott and Kathleen Ross Martin Scott. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.

She was a School Bus Contractor and drove for 31 years. This last year she was able to drive her own grandchild. She was also an Administrative Assistant for the Artesia Public Schools, and was a very active member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and by her best friend Sharon Hickey.

Memes survivors include her beloved grandchildren Lucas Ragsdale, Zane Mayberry, Bailee Ragsdale, and Addyson Mayberry her mother Kathleen Katie Scott of Artesia motherinlaw Billye Fox of Artesia son Kenny Ragsdale and wife Jami of Artesia daughter Amanda Mayberry and husband Landon of Portales, N.M. sisters Charlotte Holland of Vancouver, Washington, and Patti Horner and husband Ronald of Artesia brothers Charles Sonny Scott of Carlsbad, N.M., Gary Scott and wife Gloria of Artesia, and Rodney Poncho Scott of Artesia and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
