Karey Stock

February 9, 1955 — February 27, 2011

A celebration of the life of Karey Taylor Stock is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5 at First United Methodist Church, 500 West Grand Avenue Artesia, NM. Rev. Rick Sullivan and Rev. James Edwards will officiate at the services. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

Karey was at home when she peacefully joined her heavenly Father in his Kingdom on February 27, 2011.

Born to Marvin Sanders and Tommy Franklin Sanders on February 9, 1955 in Artesia, she remained in Artesia for the duration of her life.

Karey believed in the beauty of all Gods creation, even when others couldnt quite see it. She celebrated this beauty in her capacity as a gifted florist, with kindness and generosity to those less fortunate, and by expressing her love and appreciation of those around her with laughter, hugs, and words of affection. She believed in angels in heaven and angels on earth, and was quick to recognize both when she saw them.

However, it was as a mother, foster mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter that Kareys spirit was most evident.

She raised her son Ronnie and daughter Jennifer as a single mother, and hardship was not a stranger. Holding down three jobs and sacrificing her own dinner so her kids had a roof over their head and food in their bellies was how she got them through. That, along with plenty of love and plenty of faith in her God.

Honey Gram was how she was known to her beloved grandsons, Trent and Nathan. Taking them for lunch dates and movie nights were favorite treats for both her and her boys. New granddaughter Brylan was her baby girl and no little baby ever received more kisses and hugs than Brylan did from her Honey Gram.

Without a doubt, Karey was the head of the family as well as the heart, and would tell you in no uncertain terms, Im the boss She was a most benevolent ruler, and wanted friends and loved ones circling about her always. Karey loved a party, and Christmas was her favorite time of year. It was a command performance, with lights and decorations throughout her house, nonstop carols, festive clothes, and gifts for the grandkids piled floor to ceiling, usually well before Thanksgiving.

Throughout the course of Kareys illness, she insisted on laughter, love, and a perfect manicure. Her family and friends have lost her in body, and sorrow and grief is natural. All that was good in her, however, lives on in those whose lives she touched.

Karey is survived by her loving family: her mother, Tommy Sanders and father Marvin Sanders, both of Artesia son Ronnie Taylor of Las Cruces daughter Jennifer Taylor, her husband Brian, and their children Trent, Nathan, and Brylan, all of Artesia brother Kevin Sanders and sisters Jeanne Graham and Jaynie Hager, all of Artesia stepsons Sean Stock of Arizona and Dustin Stock of Artesia grandchildren Jerlisah DeLaRosa and Ethan Stock many wellloved nieces and nephews and her constant fluffy companion, Fifi the dog.
