Karen Matthews

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Karen Hope Matthews of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Matthews, 56, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at her home. Pastor Bobby Argo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Natera, Don Tidwell, Buddy Schiel, Duke Harrison, Justin Harrison and Mike Harrison. Mrs. Matthews was born September 4, 1946 in Checotah, Oklahoma; the daughter of Marsh Herron and Ruth Triplett Herron. On July 1, 1964 she was married to Ronnie Matthews in Carlsbad, N.M. A lifelong resident of Artesia, she was a homemaker and member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a sister Viola Boyd. Survivors include her husband Ronnie Matthews of the family home; sons Charles Matthews and wife Shawna of Artesia and Jimmy Matthews of Artesia; daughters Ronna Schiel and husband Buddy of Artesia, Sandi Tidwell and husband Don of Artesia and Stacy Natera and husband Mark of Artesia; brothers Harold Herron of Anton, Texas, Jack Herron of Roundup, Texas and Kem Herron of Artesia; sisters Pat Rouell of Salisaw, Okla. and Joyce West of Artesia; and grandchildren Krista, Ashley, Kyle, Matt, Chelsea, Joshua, Brittney, Chaz and Beau.
