Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Woodbine Cemetery for June V. Norrell, 1003 Yucca Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Norrell, 75, died Saturday, December 5, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Rev. Gavin Vaughan will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Chris Neal and Rix Lewis, good friends at Hermosa Drive Baptist Church, and all C.V.E. employees. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. June was born June 16, 1934 in Brownfield, Texas, the daughter of John C. Harrison and Mary Lett Harrison. On Feb. 6, 1951 she was married to Robert Lee Norrell in Portales, N.M. They came to Artesia on Jan. 26, 1966 from Floydada, Texas. She was a homemaker and member of Hermosa Drive Baptist Church and longtime member of the Women's Bowling League. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a sister Mary Alice Gibson. Survivors include her husband Bob Norrell of the family home; a daughter Bobbie Jean Neal and husband David of Smyrna, Ga.; a son Terry Lee Norrell and wife Rene of Choctaw, Okla.; a sister Geneva Moeller of Dallas, Texas; and grandchildren Tira Neal and Chris Neal of Broomfield, Colo., Katrina Neal of Smyrna, and Joyce Norrell Lewis and husband Rix of Artesia. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice.
