Services are scheduled at 9:00 am. Saturday, January 13, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Julian J. Aguilar, 3506 W. Quay, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Aguilar, 79, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at South Park Cemetery, Roswell. Pallbearers will be Ruben Aguilar, Ricky Esquibel, Artemio Sotelo, Eloy Paiz, Daniel Aguilar, and Jorge Baeza. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 12, at Our Lady of Grace. Visitation will begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Terpening Son Mortuary. Mr. Aguilar was born January 9, 1 928 in Alpine, Texas; the son of Longinos Aguilar and Magdalena Guerrero Jaquez Aguilar. On Dec. 20, 1952 he was married to Rita Baeza in Ojinaga, Mexico. He came to Artesia in 1961 from La Esmeralda, Ojinaga, Mexico. He was a farm laborer, a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, a member of Cursillista, and a member of the Help program in Artesia, helping farmer's children with grants for college. Julian loved to farm and grow crops and every spring he always had a garden. Julian was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jaime Aguilar, brothers Pedro and Manuel Aguilar, and a granddaughter Leti Aguilar. Survivors include his wife, Rita Aguilar of the family home; sons, Jose Luis Aguilar and wife Rosmary of Plano, Texas, Julian Aguilar and wife Elsa of Artesia, and Tony Aguilar and wife Tina of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Anna Prudencio and husband Claudio of Roswell and Socorro Aguilar of Artesia; brothers, Estevan Aguilar of Ojinaga, Mexico, Pablo Aguilar and wife Mari of Ojinaga, Mexico, Salome Aguilar and wife Hermelinda of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Norberto Aguilar and wife Zulema of Ojinaga, Mexico; sisters, Ale Aguilar of Ojinaga, Mexico and Eloy Ulate and husband Gonzalo of Odessa, Texas; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
