A Rosary and Mass are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7 at Our Lady of Grace Church for Julia De La Rosa of Artesia.
Mrs. De La Rosa, 83, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Aguilar, Gucci Lopez, Luchiahno Lopez, Mauricio Jacobo, Aaron Hinojos and R.J. Martinez. Honorary pallbearer will be Jarred Aguilar.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.
Julia was born January 28, 1932 in Wheatland, Wyoming; the daughter of Marcelo Baeza and Petra (Rodriquez) Baeza. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.
On October 12, 1947 she was married to Andres De La Rosa in Carlsbad, NM. He preceded her in death May 6, 1995.
She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Fidel Baeza.
Survivors include her daughters Carol Aguilar and husband Stephen of Artesia, Carmen Hinojos and husband Domingo of Hobbs, NM, Terry Lopez and husband Mario of Artesia and Tina Huerta and husband Nat of Artesia; brothers Ysidro Baeza, Manuel Baeza and Louis Baeza all of California and Robert Baeza of Artesia; sisters Juanita Renteria, Margaret Rodriguez, Ramona Rodriguez, Connie Olivares, Elfida Moreno and Ofelia Solis all of California; grandchildren Jennifer Florez, Jacob Aguilar, Jarred Aguilar, Rosemary and Mauricio Jacobo, Junior and Bonnie Hinojos, Joann and Amador Rodriguez, Gucci and Angleica Lopez, Luchiahno Lopez, Shanisse Huerta and Dominic Marquez; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and "adopted" grandchildren.
