Julia Renee Bussa

Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, April 12, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Julia Renee Bussa of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Bussa, 70, died on April 6, 2024 in Artesia.

Lonnie Owens and Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation will follow under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Carr, John Yates Jr., Jim Townsend, Lonnie Owens, Junior Cano, and Richard Rubio.

Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2-6 pm on Thursday.

Renee was born on July 22, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of Vernie G. Bussa and Reba McCormick Bussa. She was very connected to the Artesia community and was known as the "Card Lady" sending out cards for birthdays, anniversaries and special events to many people. She spent a lot of time praying for people, knitting items for the community and for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. She also was a member of the Artesia Story League and sang in the First Baptist Church Choir for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Vernie G. Bussa Jr.

Survivors include her twin sister Tanya Bussa; two nieces, a nephew and several cousins.
