Judy Fulton

In the gentle embrace of her cherished Artesia home, Judy Ellen Fulton (née Mauldin), aged 70, slipped peacefully into her heavenly rest on March 4, 2025. Born on a spring day, March 31, 1954, To Cecil E. and Evelyn Mauldin (Markham), she was a daughter of Artesia, deeply rooted in its heart.

A proud graduate of Artesia High School, Class of 1972, Her journey took a wondrous turn, when she wed her devoted love, Louis, On September 29, 1978, in the town they both adored.

An artist of needle and thread, her evenings were spent in joyful solitude, crafting treasures in her "playhouse," both in her Artesia haven and at her sanctuary, the family ranch in Breckenridge, Texas. A giver by nature, she lavished love in the form of feasts- no soul left her home unfed. Her culinary magic spun from the humblest of ingredients, an art guided by memory alone.

Preceding her in eternal peace are her parents, Cecil Eldon and Dora Evelyn, her precious granddaughter, Riley Goetz, her brother-in-law, Leo Pennington, and beloved nephews, Eldon Pennington, and Valton Guthrie.

To carry her light forward, she leaves behind: her steadfast husband, Louis Fulton of Artesia; her daughter, Leslie Patterson, with fiancé CJ Watson of Weatherford, Texas; four sons-Chad Fulton with Heather of Artesia, Jeff Gore with Joni of Pineville, Louisiana, Glen Fulton and wife Cheri of Breckenridge, Texas, and Jason Fulton with husband James Mercer of Lampasas, Texas; And a legacy of cherished grandchildren: Brent Patterson Jr with Bri of Artesia, Amy Hudson with Nolan of Bellville, Ohio, Marenna Havens with Matt Ward of Weatherford Texas , Kaelee Crawford with Cole of Colorado City Texas, Alise Gunnoe with Andrew of Kyle Texas, Lexi Fulton with Quintin Navarrette of Artesia, Jeffrey Fulton of Artesia, Aaliyah Musgrove with Dan of Oneida, New York, Jewel Sample of Artesia, John Fulton with Jynna Morro of Roswell, Linden Fulton-Mercer of Lampasas, Texas and Neveah Patterson of Weatherford, Texas. Great grandchildren Kohlson Hall, Kali Patterson, Kenna Patterson, Konner Patterson, Rocke Hudson, Matthew Hudson, Willow Hudson, and Collin Crawford Elijah Barraza, Elena Barraza, Daisy Pierce of Ruidoso and Cortnie Fulton Williams with Jacob of Leavenworth Kansas, Casandra Day of Albuquerque, Aylssa and Meli of Artesia. Sisters Cathy Pennington and Renee Guthrie and a whole host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends and her faithful furbabies Nikki and Baby . A special thank you to her sister Cathy for being by her side during her numerous trips to the doctor and her treatments, and to the staff at J&J home health.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Monday March 10, 2025 at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia, NM with Leroy Howard officiating. A graveside Service will be held at a later date in Breckenridge, Texas at the Family Ranch.
