Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 20 at Terpening Son Mortuary in Artesia, N.M. for former Artesia resident Juanita Nita Velma Stoops Wright of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Wright, 84, died Thursday, December 18, 2003 in Dallas. Roby Zumwalt will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Mrs. Wright was born August 3, 1919 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma; the daughter of Ernest Stoops and Velma Morgan Stoops. On June 28, 1939 she was married to William S. Wright in Hobart, Oklahoma. They came to Artesia in November 1958 from Hobart where she had lived since the mid 1930s. Her husband preceded her in death January 12, 1999. She had worked as a Statistics Clerk for the New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission; and was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ in Artesia. Survivors include her mother Velma Kiehn of Hobart, Okla.; a son David E. Wright of Arlington, Texas; a daughter Jane Crutcher of Dallas; sisters Dorothy McLaughlin of Del City, Okla. and Louise Bunje of Midwest City, Okla.; grandchildren Michael S. Wright, Gabrielle Wright Culpepper, and Juanpablo Wright; step-grandchildren Sharon L. Yoh, Mark A. Crutcher, and Paul M. Crutcher; and 11 great-grand-children.
