Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Saturday, June 21, at Our Lady of Grace Church for Juanita C Briseno, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Briseno, 72, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Artesia General Hospital. Fr. Miguel Briseno will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Abran Gonzalo Briseno, David Roberto Briseno II, Martin Javier Briseno II, Isaiah Manuel Chavez, Joshua David Briseno, Johnny Ray Briseno. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the grandchildren. Mrs. Briseno was born June 12, 1931 in Artesia, New Mexico; the daughter of Gonzalo Gomez and Rita Padilla Gomez. On July 17, 1955 she was married to Robert Briseno in Artesia, NM. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She was a teacher at Artesia Head Start for 17 years; member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Third Order Franciscan, and the Guadalupano Choir. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Teresa Briseno, a son Martin Javier Briseno, a son-in-law Manuel Chavez and a brother Benito Gomez. Survivors include her husband Robert Briseno of the family home; sons David Roberto Briseno of Clovis, NM Miguel Eduardo Briseno of Las Cruces, NM, Leonel Fabian Briseno of Las Cruces, Adrian Joel Briseno of Artesia, Felipe Abel Briseno of Las Cruces; daughter Celina Aguirre of Artesia; brother Frank Gomez of El Paso, Texas; sisters Socorro Gomez of Roswell, NM, Belzora Paz of Roswell, Leticia Gomez of Roswell, Rita Olivares of Ventura, Calif., Esmera Gomez of Roswell, Virginia Garcia of Las Cruces, and Yolanda Gomez of Albuquerque, NM; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
