Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 19, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Juanita Bratcher, 1203 S. 20th St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Bratcher, 87, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at her home in Artesia. Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Lewis, James Maupin, Don Calvert, Homer Mahan, Harry Price, and Terry Maupin. Mrs. Bratcher was born April 25, 1917 in Kephart, New Mexico; the daughter of Joe Woodard and Esther Myrtle Damron Woodard. On Jan. 12, 1946 she was married to Jeff Orval Bratcher in Amarillo, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1947 from Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a homemaker and member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by parents, a brother Melton Woodard, three sisters Bonnie Whited, Lucille Mitchell, and Chris Eddy. Survivors include her husband Orval Bratcher of the family home; sons Gary Bratcher of Decatur, Texas, and Ronnie Bratcher of Artesia; daughter Anita Hoyle of Carlsbad, N.M.; brother Jay Woodard of Aztec, N.M.; sister Geneva Blanks of Vernon, Texas; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
