Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Juan Johnny Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez, 66, died Friday, July 3, 2009 at Eastern N.M. Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Charlie Rodriguez, Mark Martinez, Jacob Jonathon Gallegos, Eric Grado, Raymond Perez, Troy Brown III, Raymond Perez, Jr., and Jesse Grado, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Johnny was born January 16, 1943 in Alpine, Texas; the son of Deloras Rodriguez and Manuela Cervantez Rodriguez. He came to Artesia in 1948 from Texas. He served in the United States Army National Guard. On March 28, 1975 he was married to Angie Chavarria in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a driver for UPS for 22 years and retired 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He loved and took great pride in his family. He was an avid outdoorsman including hunting, fishing, camping, and a silouette shooter. He reloaded all of his own ammunition. Johnny was a hard worker and looked out for others all the time. He would do anything he could to help out others no matter what their need might be. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Michael A. Rodriguez II. Survivors include his wife Angie Rodriguez of the family home; sons Troy Brown and wife Christina of Artesia, Michael Rodriguez and wife Sofia of Artesia, and John Gabriel Rodriguez of Artesia; daughter Yvette Rodriguez Gallegos and husband Ben of Albuquerque, N.M.; brother Deloras C. Rodriguez and wife Delfina of Roswell; sisters Arlene Martinez and husband Zeke of Clovis, N.M., and Rosalinda Garza and husband Jesse of Roswell; grandchildren Troy, Melissa, Natasha, Naomi, Anthony, Ciara, Danielle, Jacob, Ashley, Zachery, and Bennie Joseph; great-grandchildren Alea Elizabeth, Damon Lee, Jadrian, and Jenaya; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
