Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at West Main Baptist Church for Juan Hinojos Anaya of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Anaya, 69, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vacilio Anaya, Louis Anaya, Paul Anaya, Cipriano Anaya, Jaime Anaya, and Luis Gabaldon.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Anaya was born March 24, 1941 in Mulalo, Chijuajua, Mexico the son of Manuel Anaya and Manuela Hinojos Anaya.
Juan came to Artesia in 1950 from Mexico. On May 23, 1964 he was married to Adelita Ponce in Artesia. She preceded him in death February 15, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents son Eloyd Anaya brother Raul Anaya and 2 sisters.
He served in the United States Army National Guard.
Juan worked as a laborer in the potash mines and also as a mechanic. He was a member of West Main Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons David Anaya and wife Laura of Artesia, and Raul Anaya and wife Lori of Artesia daughter Annabel Anaya of Artesia brothers Vacilio Anaya of San Antonio, Texas, Louis Anaya of Hobbs, N.M., Paul Anaya of Artesia, and Cipriano Anaya of Hobbs sisters Carmen Razo of Hobbs, Mary Ruiz of Artesia, Gloria Lopez of Albuquerque, N.M., Dominga Campos of Roswell, N.M., Adela Anaya of Las Vegas, N.M., and Nellie Mendez of Tucson, Arizona grandchildren Brenna Arredondo, Gaby Anaya, David Z. Anaya, Geovana J. Anaya, Tatiana Anaya, Aubree Anaya, and Kiley Odle.
