Joyce Peterson

Joyce Peterson, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother was called home to be with the Lord On November 13th, 2024.

Joyce Mae Dungan was born April 30th 1926 in Cando, North Dakota. She lived there with her father, Ferne and her siblings, Jack, Doreen and Ferne jr.

When Joyce was a teenager her family moved to Michigan, where she met Paul Peterson, a young man who lived across the street. She would say "he was so handsome, all the girls loved him, but he only loved me".They were married August 15, 1942.

Joyce and Paul had 10 children Karen,Shirley,Dennis,Diane,Calvin,Richard(Sara),Elwyn (Cara),James(Becky),Donna,Glen(Kammy). They had 21 grandchildren and Numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Joyce was a special person who was always kind to everyone she met. She worked hard her entire life creating a wonderful home for her children and happy memories for her grandchildren. She always had fresh baked cookies, stories and poems to share and an endless supply of love. Her cards were often signed simply. Be happy, she would say.

In passing, Joyce joined her Husband, Paul, her parents and siblings, her son Dennis, grandson Scott, granddaughter Anita and great granddaughter Janice.

There will be a celebration of life for Joyce Peterson. Saturday, November 16 at 4 pm at West Main Baptist Church in Artesia.
