Joyce Collinsworth

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary for Joyce Nadine Collinsworth of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Collinsworth, 77, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia.

Joyce was born May 11, 1939 in Marysville, Texas to Esville Luna and Mary Jane (Winkles) Luna.

On May 12, 1973 she was married to Melvin Collinsworth in Roswell, New Mexico. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in the 1980's and resided there until 2012 when she moved to Artesia. Melvin preceded her in death on June 10, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; children Larry, Steven, Jimmy, Christopher, Kathy, Mary Ann, and Linda Louise Alves; brother Ed Luna; and sisters Betty Martin, Onita Anderson, and Virginia Ham.

Joyce was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting. She loved her family and her cat, Sam.

Survivors include her daughter Patricia Alves in Baytown, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including a niece, Marva Mathews of Artesia.
