Joseph Solt

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Joseph James Solt of Roswell, New Mexico.

Mr. Solt, 87, died , Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Bobby Argo will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Mike, Jon, Mikey, Barry, Brandon, Barry Jon, Bobby, Brendon and Jayden. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wadkins, Michael Wayne Solt, Carl Palmer, Barry R. Beadle, George Beadle and all of his old Oilfield Buddies.

Joseph was born August 16, 1923 in Findlay, Ohio the son of Walter Solt and Bernice Myer Solt. He came to Artesia in 1930s from Findlay, Ohio.

He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

On August 22, 1942 he was married to Bobbie Parker in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on October 7, 1994. He then married Beatrice Palmer in Bullhead, Nevada on February 16, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents brother Jon Solt sisters Virginia, Jean and Mariann nephew Richard Johnsen and stepchildren LaDonna and Lloyd.

He was a graduate of Artesia High School in 1940 stating Walter Bynum was influential in his life. He attended the University of Oklahoma. Joseph owned and operated Solt Well Service for 17 years beginning in 1964. He loved his family, fishing and keeping up with his classmates. He taught welding in El Paso and Roswell and was an expert witness in many oilfield accidents. He also attended the VA Blind Rehabilitation in Tucson, AZ to make his blindness a plus for all around him. He was also asked to be an instructor at the age of 87.

Survivors include his wife Bea Solt of family home daughters Patty Crouch and husband Mike of Artesia, and Barb Beadle and husband Jon of Granbury, Texas stepdaughter Lequitta Carlton of Austin, Texas stepson Carl Palmer of Ruidoso, N.M. 4 grandchildren Mikey Crouch and KK Vest of Artesia, Barry Joe Beadle and wife Annette of Granbury, Carrianne Caldwell and husband Brandon of Lubbock, Texas, and Kim Seago of Granbury 7 greatgrandchildren Barry Jon Beadle, Brendon Seago, Taelyn Beadle, Grace Go Go Caldwell, Bobby Crouch, Devan Crouch, and Jayden Crouch several nieces and nephews.
