Jose Serrano

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jun. 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose Ontiverros Serrano, 31 Marsha Drive, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Serrano, 75, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at his home.

Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joshua Serrano, Jacob Serrano, Robert Serrano Jr., Larry Serrano, Scott Bryant and Abel Serrano.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Tuesday Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday

Mr. Serrano was born December 27, 1934 in Marfa, Texas the son of Julian Serrano and Sefrino Anteveras Serrano.

On February 24, 1954 he was married to Trinidad De La 0 Sosa in Marfa, Texas. He came to Artesia in 1964 from Van Horn, Texas.

He was a carpenter and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife Trine Serrano of the family home sons Joe Jr. Serrano of Artesia, David Serrano of Artesia, Ernesto Serrano of Midland, Texas, Gilbert Serrano of Midland, Rudy Serrano of Midland, and Robert Lee Serrano of Albuquerque, N.M. daughters Cora Jean Serrano of El Paso, and Mary Ann Serrano of Artesia brothers Johnny Serrano of Marfa, and Christepher Luna of Marfa sisters Corine Rojo of Ft. Stockton, Gloria Chavira of Marfa, Maggie Espinoza of Waco, Texas, Sara Grona of Odessa, Texas and Rose Pirtle of Laredo, Texas 17 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
