Jose Ruiz

Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose Trinidad Ruiz, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Ruiz, 80, died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at his home. Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Billy Ruiz, Lupe Ruiz, Anthony Ruiz, Esteban Ruiz, Jeremiah Ruiz, and Fernando Segura. Mr. Ruiz was born August 6, 1922 in Dayton, New Mexico; the son of Guadalupe Ruiz and Brigida Gonzalez Ruiz. On Aug. 1, 1944 he was married to Teadora Delgado in Carlsbad, NM. He was a lifelong area resident. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Terpening Son Mortuary. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include his wife Teadora Ruiz of the family home; sons Ruben D. Ruiz of Las Cruces, NM Fred Ruiz of Hobbs, NM Roy Ruiz of Minturn, Colo., Guadalupe Ruiz of Plains, Texas, Bregido Ruiz of Minturn, Leo Ruiz of Artesia, Frank Ruiz of Hagerman, NM, Raymond Ruiz of Hobbs, and Johnny Ruiz of Artesia; daughters Mary Ruiz of Artesia, and Micky Rojas of Hobbs; 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including Maria Hernandez of Artesia.
