Jose Rodriguez

Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, September 5, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose Calderon Rodriguez, 805 N. Roselawn Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez, 86, died Saturday, September 1, 2002, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan Rodriguez, Paul Rodriguez, Lorenzo Guzman, Carlos Rodriguez, Basilio Gomez Tommy Ray Chavarria. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 P.M. Wednesday Our Lady of Grace Church Mr. Rodriguez was born December 18, 1915 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of Basilio Rodriguez and Manuela Calderon Rodriguez. On April 10, 1953 he was married to Maria Guerrero in Artesia. He was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a truck driver and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and D.A.V. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Survivors include wife Maria Rodriguez of the family home; sons Willie Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas, Simon Rodriguez of Artesia, Charly Rodriguez of Espanola, NM, David Rodriguez Lena of Albuquerque; daughter Patricia Perez Armando of Artesia; sisters Olivia Chavarria of Artesia, Susie Gomez of Artesia, Lucy Ramirez of Carlsbad; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
