Jose Luevano

Memorial services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose A. Luevano of Artesia.

Mr. Luevano, 78, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at San Pedro Nursing Center in Artesia.

Fr. Martin Cornejo will officiate at the services. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

There will be a rosary on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Joe was born March 19, 1937 in Artesia, the son of Ambrosio Luevano and Sarah (Aguilar) Luevano. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Joe was a truck driver and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He taught at Head Start, and loved to play solitaire and do word search.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his daughters Brenda Luevano of Artesia and Erica Flores and husband Benjamin of Artesia; sons Jose Luevano and wife Stephanie of Artesia and Israel Luevano of Artesia; 4 sisters; and 13 grandchildren.
