Jose Granado

April 14, 1932 — March 29, 2014

Jose Granado, 81, was born on April 14,1932 and went to be with our Lord on March 29, 2014. Born in Presidio, TX to Cipriano and Consuelo Granado, he moved to Artesia in 1946. Jose worked until he retired from Kersey Oil Company after thirty five years.

Jose loved to fish and camp with his family and friends, with many camping weekends to the Silver and Bonita lakes, and day trips to Lake Vann, Sitting Bull Falls and Lake McMillan Brantley Dam. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Jose proudly served in the US Army and is a Korean War veteran. He was a loving husband, father, brother, Compadre and friend to many.

Jose married Eusebia Navarrette on January 23,1956 and had eight children, Ruben Martha Granado, Delma Daryl Beard, Yolanda Joe Nunez, Roy, Alice, Gloria, Gracie and Gloria infant deceased.

Jose and his wife Eusebia have thirteen grandchildren: Yvonne Granado, Orlando Granado, Steven Granado, Thomas Nunez, Michael Nunez, Joseph Granado, Erica Granado, John Granado, Jose Granado, Victor Lujan, Jeffery Wright, Krista Gatz, and Matthew Wright. Jose also had twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jose is survived by his wife Eusebia, and children, Ruben Roswell, Delma Roswell, Yolanda El Paso, Roy Las Cruces, Alice Las Cruces, Gloria Artesia and Gracie Mustang OK. Jose is also survived by brother Salvador Granado Artesia, sisters Belen Marquez and Magdalena Montoya of Espanola.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Steven Granado, Michael Nunez, Jeffrey Wright, Joseph Granado, John Granado and great grandson Gauge Kennard. Honorary Pallbearers are Orlando Granado, Thomas Nunez, Matthew Wright, Erica Granado, Jose Granado and Victor Lujan.

Jose was preceded in death by infant daughter Gloria, His parents, Cipriano and Consuelo Granado, Brothers Saturnino Acosta and Francisco Granado and Sisters Pascuala Granado and Maria Cortez.

A rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1111 N. Roselawn, on Monday, March 31 at 6:30 pm. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic, with Celebrant Father Martin Cornejo.
