Jose Bueno

Mass is scheduled at 9:30 AM. Tuesday, May 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose Vias Bueno, 503 W. Bullock, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Bueno, 90, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Good Samaritan Village in Hobbs, New Mexico. Fr. Virgilio Flores will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, at Our Lady of Grace Church. Mr. Bueno was born October 1, 1911 in Tularosa, New Mexico; the son of Marcos Bueno and Virginia Vias Bueno. On Oct. 26, 1940 he was married to Geneva Tesillo in Carlsbad, NM. He came to Artesia in 1941 from Tularosa. She preceded him in death Dec. 16, 2001. He was a farm laborer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and was a Head Start Grandfather for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Barela. Survivors include sons Joe Bueno Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Pete Bueno of Hobbs, Tino Bueno of Artesia; daughters Connie Delgado of Artesia, Virginia Ruiz of Artesia, Beatrice Madrid of Artesia, Mabel Countz of Wichita, Kansas; 23 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
