Jose Alvarado

A viewing will be held for Jose Alvarado at Our Lady of Grace on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 8:30 am with a rosary to follow at 9:30 and funeral mass at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Woodbine Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass.

Mr. Alvarado,88, was born on March 19, 1936, to Refugio and Isydra Alvarado in Durango, Mexico. He passed away on January 9, 2025, in Artesia, NM.

Jose was a very loving, caring, hardworking, husband. He proudly worked for Stevensons-Roach, as a sandblaster and painter. He enjoyed looking at geographic magazines. He was known to take long strolls down and around the one-way picking pecans and collecting all sorts of rocks. He loved having coffee in the early mornings and made the best frijoles and avena in the world. He was friendly, compassionate, caring and always said hello with a smile on his face. He has a beautiful daughter, four handsome sons, three brother-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.

Jose is preceded by his beloved wife, Maria Alvarado and beloved son, Refugio Alvarado.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maria Wilkinson; son, Rigo Alvarado; son, Juan Alvarado; son, Jesus and Kathy Torres; oldest granddaughter, Isydra Maria Alvarado; Bubba Travis Wilkison, Lydia M. Espino, Anali K. Espino, Ismael and Mireya Lerma; eight grandkids, as well as six great grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews.
