Jonell Gilmore

Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 4, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Jonell Rayburn Gilmore, 201 Richardson Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Gilmore, 81, died Sunday, March 31, 2002 in Artesia. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Phil Fry, Tell Fry, Steve Borland, Stephen Buffs, Cecil Halsell, Jerry Ransbarger and Jason Howell. Mrs. Gilmore was born July 9, 1920 in Benjamin, Texas; the daughter of Joe Rayburn and Francis St Clair Rayburn. She came to Artesia in 1935 from Texas. She married Stanley Jones on April 23, 1936 in Carlsbad, N.M. On May 5, 1967 she was married to Harry Gilmore in Artesia. He preceded her in death January 29, 1973. She was a housewife; a member of First United Methodist Church and the B.P.O. Does. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Stanley L. Jones, Jr.; and grandchildren Ricky Nelms and Amanda Jo Howell. Survivors include daughters Patricia Nelms of Hagerman, N.M., Jonell Howell of Austin, Texas and Lynette Fry of Artesia; a brother Ronald Gene Gray of San Angelo, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
