Jonathan Priest

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 14 at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Jonathan L. Wesley Priest, Artesia, New Mexico. Jonathan, age 15, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003 in Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Bobby Argo, Youth Pastor J.R. Maxwell, and Childrens Pastor Tom Malone will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Neal, Barry Wilkinson, Van Webster, Dwayne Parrish, Tom Malone, and Eddie Helms. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop 228, Flint Youth Ministries, Justin Foster and Dustin Davis. Jonathan was born September 7, 1987 in Portales, New Mexico; the son of Layton Priest and Roxanna Box Priest. He came to Artesia in 1993 from Roswell, N.M. He was a student and member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God, Flint Youth Ministries and Troop 228 Boy Scouts of America Life Rank. Survivors include his parents Layton and Roxanna Priest of Artesia; a sister Starla Priest of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandparents James and Jerry Priest of Clovis, N.M., Jake and Wanda Box of Portales, and Viola Lockridge of Clovis; great-grandmothers Maggie Chick Priest of Clovis and Fannie Bell Nuckles of Elida, N.M.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Lubbock or Speed The Light; both in care of Trinity Temple Assembly of God at P.O. Box 1678 in Artesia, NM 88210.
