Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24, at West Main Baptist Church for Johnny F. Tulk, 2205 W. Briscoe Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Tulk, 70, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hoby Tulk, Gary Newton, Kenny Newton, Owen Puckett, David Scrimshire, Paul Smith and Michael Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde James Seeley, Larry Dade, Jim Bristow, Rusty McKee, Joe Elliot, Calvin Graham, John Ellis and Tommy Bledsoe. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10 AM Wednesday.
Mr. Tulk was born November 30, 1939 in Roswell, New Mexico the son of William Millard Tulk and Carrie Elena Seeley Tulk.
On June 5, 1962 he was married to Shannon McKinley in Artesia, NM. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was a rancher and member of West Main Baptist Church, N.M. Wool Growers Association, N.M. Cattlemans Association, and served in the United States Army Reserve. He was a Sunday School teacher, strong advocate for Ranchers rights, good husband, father and grandfather, hardworking honest man who treated people fairly and loved the Lord. He loved his children and his grandchildren were the delight of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother.
Survivors include his wife Shannon Tulk of the family home daughters Carrie McCaleb and husband Mark of Artesia, and Patty Boatenhammer and husband Billy of Artesia brothers Buddy Tulk of Arkansas, and June Tulk of Artesia sister Nellie Sims of Florida and 4 grandchildren Kelcey McCaleb, Anniston McCaleb, Brayden Dossey and Tanner Dossey.
