Johnny Day

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Johnny Allen Day. Mr. Day, 32, died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at his home in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rev. Steve Ormord will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Bliss Lee Owens, Eric Owens, John Schoonmaker, Michael Schoonmaker, A.J. Schoonmaker, Scott Maxwell, Ricky Owens, Gary Eastman, Jeremy Whitcomb, Louie DiCamillo, Chad Millgan, Barry Beadle, Rick Brintle friends he worked with. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Mr. Day was born August 9, 1974 in Alamogordo, New Mexico; the son of Dean Allen Day and Janis Schoonmaker Day. On April 2, 1999 he was married to Michelle Owens in Artesia, New Mexico. He came to the Carlsbad area in 2000. He was a pumper in the Oilfield and of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Jim Jimbo Dean Day, aunt, Vicky Schoonmaker, grandmother, Gladys Day, and grandmother, Mona Schoonmaker. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Day of Carlsbad; mother, Janis Day of Artesia; sister, Jeanne Eastman and husband Gary of Artesia; father and mother-in-law, Bliss Lee Owens and wife Camille of Carlsbad; brother-in-law, Eric Owens and wife Kaci of Artesia; sister-in-law, Carrie Maxwell and husband Scott of Carlsbad; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
