Johnny Buck, Sr.

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Woodbine Cemetery for former Artesia resident Johnny James Buck, Sr. of Cedar Crest, New Mexico. Mr. Buck, 58, died Friday, March 4, 2005 at his home. J.T. Ross will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Johnny J. Buck, III, Brock Morris, David Olson, Lonnie Madron, Billy Huchins, and Jack Manry. Mr. Buck was born May 6, 1946 in Artesia; the son of Ted R. Buck and Georgia M Hammond Buck. He moved from Artesia in 1965 and has resided in Cedar Crest for the last five years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a union sheet metal worker; retiring in 2003. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans; and enjoyed playing pool and the outdoors. Survivors include sons Raymond Buck and wife Alice of Artesia and Johnny J. Buck, Jr. and wife Kelly of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother Randy Buck of Artesia; sisters Rayetta Olson of Lubbock, Texas and Jeanie Madron of Dallas, Texas; and grandsons Johnny J. Buck, III and Lannis B. Buck.
