Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Terpening Son Chapel for John Thomas Harris,of , Hobbs, New Mexico.
Mr. Harris, 80, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at his sons home in Artesia, New Mexico.
Jason Kraft will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers will be John David Harris, Joseph Coy Harris, Daniel McCann, Bryan OHare, David Gonzales, Jim Appel and Tristen Guage Sperduti.
Mr. Harris was born December 22, 1929 in Garvin, Oklahoma the son of William Henry Harris and Nanny Jane Connor Harris.
On July 3, 1957 he was married to Elizabeth Lemoine in Santa Barbara, California. He came to Hobbs, N.M. In 1979 from Red River, New Mexico.
He served in the United States Army during Korean War.
He worked in Field Service and Retail Sales for Goodyear and was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald Harris and William Bubba Harris and a sister Marry Jo Eudey.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Harris of the family home son David Harris and wife Sandra of Artesia daughters Jane Appel and husband Jim of Hobbs, Paula Gonzales and husband David sisters Ann Abercrombie of Houston, Texas, Jesey Cook of Cee Vee, Texas, Kay Perdy of Plainview, Texas and Fay Rogers of Plainview 5 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
