John Duran

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. at West Main Baptist Church for John Duran of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Duran, 36, passed away on July 26, 2016 in Artesia.

Pastor Jason Kraft will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Woodbine cemetery. Pallbearers are Dale Osburn, Lance Osburn, Derek Osburn, Joval Duran, Jason Osburn, John Izaak Duran and Dalila Osburn. Honorary Pallbearers are Raul Vega, Lola Chavarria, Izaak Carrasco and Rick Reza.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Terpening and Son Mortuary. There will be a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Terpening & Son Chapel.

John was born on August 30, 1979 in Artesia. On June 2, 2007 he married Leisha Loyd. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

He was a field technician for Haliburton, a member of West Main Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating and family time.

He was preceded in death by his fathers Reymundo Chavarria and Juan Duran.

Survivors include his wife Leisha Duran; mothers Norma Duran and Augustina L. Duran; sons John Izaak Duran, Cross Duran, Gabriel Augustine Duran, Jason Reza and R.J. Duran; daughters Mariah Reza and Aolani Kiara Saenz; brothers Dale Osburn, Lance Osburn, Derek Osburn, Joval Osburn, Jason Osburn and Jaime Duran; sisters Dalila Osburn, Alyssa Salmon, Iris Velo and Erica Duran; grandmother Maria Chavarria Hernandez; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
