Joe Ross

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 7, at Woodbine Cemetery for Joe E. Ross, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Ross, 82, died Thursday, March 3, 2005 in Artesia.

Dwayne Pounds will officiate at the services.

Visitation will be at Terpening amp; Son Mortuary starting at 2:00 P.M. Sunday.

Mr. Ross was born October 13, 1922 in Lakewood, New Mexico; the son of James Taylor Ross and Charity Frances Brazeal Ross.

On February 12, 1943 he was married to Ruby Bowman in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area.

He was a Blender for Navajo Refinery from which he retired in 1986. He previously worked as a farmer and was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Alton Ross, and a son Billy Joe Ross.

Survivors include his wife Ruby Ross of the family home; daughter Patricia Barber of Artesia, N.M.; brother Carl Ross of Arkansas; three sisters Jewel Hickam of Carlsbad, N.M., Myrtle Heard of Florida, and Bonnie Powell of Hope, N.M.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
