Joe Garay

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jose Flores Garay, 901 N. 6th St., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Garay, 76, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home.

Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Hernandez, Antonio Vazquez, Adan Alvarado, Pete Esquibel, Jesus Vazquezand Hector Vazquez.

A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Joe was born June 6, 1936 in Presidio, Texas the son of Pedro Garay and Faustina Flores Garay. He came to Artesia in 1940 from Presidio, Texas.

On April 29, 1960 he was married to Juana Garay in Ojinaga, Mexico.

He was a laborer for the State Highway Department and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Army Reserves for over 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Survivors include his wife Juana Garay of Artesia and daughter Erma Vazquez of Artesia.
