Joe Adams

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 14, at Woodbine Cemetery for Joe Wayne Adams of Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Adams, 58, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 in Artesia. Father Benedict Folger, SS.CC., will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Shepherd, Wesley Neel, Scott Reay, Larry Clark, Lex Klein, Terry Crowley, Richard Goddard, and Mike Haley. Mr. Adams was born November 16, 1945 in Carlsbad, New Mexico; the son of Homer J. Adams and Lindwell E. Vallandingham Adams. On June 21, 1970 he was married to Phyllis Clark in Carlsbad. He came to Artesia in 1975 from Carlsbad. He was preceded in death by his mother Lindwell E. Adams. Survivors include his wife Phyllis Adams of the family home; his father Homer Adams and wife Dorothy of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters Kristina Shepherd and husband Kenneth of Amarillo, Texas, Lisa Neel and husband Wesley of Artesia, and Jessica Adams of Artesia; and a sister Linda Goddard of Houston, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
