Jo Thompson

Jo Ann Younger Thompson went home to be with her family December 19, 2024. Jo was born on December 20, 1946 to John Leroy Younger and Dorothy Faye Grissom Younger in Artesia, New Mexico. She grew up in Artesia and she attended The College of Artesia. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles California, where she taught at a private school for a couple of years. Afterwards she moved to Irving, Texas. Here she started working in the trucking industry. During this time, she met Earl Ray Thompson. They married on Valentines Day on 1985. Shortly after that they moved to Salem, OR. She continued working in the trucking industry. Her husband Ray also continued working as a over the road truck driver. They eventually moved to Aloha, OR. In 2018 they sold their home and returned to Jo's hometown of Artesia where they took up residence in Jo's parents' home.

Jo Ann loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially loved her niece April Rhoten Wilkinson, and would spoil her every chance she got.

Jo was preceded in death by her Parents John Leroy Younger, Dorothy Grissom Younger, Sister Marilyn Jane Younger and her husband Earl Ray Thompson. Survivors are her younger sister Karla Younger Rhoten, and April Rhoten Wilkinson and husband Robert Wilkinson.

There will be no services or memorial. Jo's wish was to be cremated.
