Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Harvest Fellowship for Jimmy Dean Starr of Aransas Pass, Texas.
Mr. Starr, 57, died November 13, 2018 in Corpus Christi, TX.
Ronnie Williams will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
Jimmy was born in Artesia, New Mexico on February 8, 1961 to Roland and Sharon (Goodson) Starr. He was currently a resident of Aransas Pass, Texas and former resident of Artesia, New Mexico. Jimmy moved to Aransas Pass because he loved the water. He was most recently a boat captain who enjoyed taking clients (who became friends) on fishing excursions. Jimmy was a retired Police Officer and Detective in New Mexico. He worked at the city, county and federal levels. Jimmy was also an accomplished firearms instructor. He helped train the US Marshalls after the 911 attacks. Jimmy will always be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing, dancing and singing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Preceding in death is his grandmother, Frances Anita Olson.
Survivors include his wife: Tammy Starr of Aransas Pass, Texas; son: Dustin Starr (Teria) of Artesia, New Mexico; daughter: Tiffany Baker (Jonah Holland) of Artesia, New Mexico; step-son: Derek Burmeister of Muskegon, Michigan; step-daughters: Amber Ivy (Kabir) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Tabitha Grenell (Eric) of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; parents: Roland and Sharon Starr of Artesia, New Mexico; brother: Kelly Starr (Jacqueline) of Dexter, NM; sister: Wendy Wright (Joseph "Woody") of Artesia, New Mexico; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great- nephews and friends.
