Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 12, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Jimmy Calderon Perez of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Perez, 54, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Nor-Lea Regional Hospital in Lovington, New Mexico.
Fr. Francis Lazer will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dino Perez, Jr., Rodney Perez, Fabian Vasquez, Tony Vasquez, Jr., Manuel Perez, and Lalo Alvarado.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Jimmy was born July 26, 1960 in Artesia, New Mexico; the son of Manuel Perez and Juanita (Calderon) Perez. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.
He worked as a cook for different restaurants in Artesia and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He also loved to cook.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and a baby sister.
Survivors include his sister Sylvia Vasquez and husband Tony of Artesia; half-sister Catalina Garcia of Bovina, Texas; brothers Henry Perez and wife Ofelia, Dino Perez, and Michael Perez all of Artesia; 7 nieces and nephews.
