Jimmy Liles

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at First United Methodist Church for Jimmy Lee Liles, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Liles, 78, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home.

Rev. Monty Leavell will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Liles, Jimmy Liles, Bryant Liles, Cameron Liles, Spencer Liles, and McKayla Liles. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Gray, Tim Herring, Gee Davis, A.J. Posey, Bill McGeachy, Sammy Boyce, Richard Smith, Eddie Watson, Lynn Berry, Tommy Hoover, and Stanley Davis.

Jimmy was born September 12, 1936 in Danville, Arkansas; the son of Sid Liles and Ila (Clack) Liles. He came to Artesia in 1945 from Arkansas.

On June 17, 1960 he was married to Mary Horner in Artesia.

He was a pipeline superintendent for Conoco and Navajo Refinery. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, enjoyed restoring 1946 pickups, racing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Mary Liles of Artesia; sons Jimmy E. Liles and wife Pam of Artesia, and Craig Liles and wife Erica of Artesia; grandchildren Bryant Liles and wife Shanna, Cameron Liles, Spencer Liles, and McKayla Liles. The family would like to give a special thank you to Jimmy's caregivers Dr. Salgado, Dr. Labayan, Dr. Abalos, Gloria, Shirley, Carolina and Denna, and hospice ladies Vickie, Pat, Christina, Lori, Roberta, Stella, Holly and Rhonda.

Memorial contributions can be made to the 1st United Methodist Building Fund, Assurance Home, or the charity of your choice.
