Jimmy Devine

Jimmy Frank Devine, age 72, went to his heavenly home on August 29, 2021. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A small service will take place at a later date. Jim was born January 13, 1949 in Artesia, NM to Frank and Evelyn Devine. Upon graduation from Artesia High School in 1967 he joined the United States Navy and was aboard for three cruises during the Vietnam war. He married his high school sweetheart Garilyn Elizabeth Tidwell in 1969 and from this union came two children; Brandon Scott and Leslie Brooke. Jim worked for39 years as a power lineman and retired from Excel Energy after 32 years . He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Jim also enjoyed metal, wood and leatherworking. He is preceded in death by his father Frank Devine, his mother Evelyn Mae Farris and his wife Garilyn. He is survived by his sisters Sherry Fleming, Becky Shipman and Franki Ingram, son Brandon Scott Devine, daughter Leslie Brooke Clowe and three grandchildren Joshua Stiles Devine, Jake Caleb Devine and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Devine, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the community for all their compassionate support.
